Big Girl Bed

The weekend after New Year's Eve, Mommy and Daddy were sleeping, when they suddenly heard a big thud, followed by a cry that made both Mommy and Daddy JUMP out of bed. We ran into Alexis' room and found her sitting on the floor pouting, with a red mark on her head. Apparently, Alexis had decided to take a flying leap out of her crib. So, we all went to the store and bought a Big Girl Bed.

Believe it or not, she's sleeping in that picture.

I think she likes it.

New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, Alexis and Mommy went to Leiisa's house. We didn't stay for long, so I only took a few pictures.
Alexis and Anna enjoying some popcorn.

I'm not sure what Alexis is doing here, but Anna was keeping a close eye on her.
Ms. Matilda all tuckered out.

Uh-Oh!

A day at the park

One of the great things about living in Vegas is that we have a lot of really nice parks,
and with the weather we have, it's almost always a nice day to go to the park.

Here are some ducks enjoying a swim at the park.

Geese too.

Alexis liked watching the pigeons.

I'm not sure what she was looking at, but she definitely seems interested.

Alexis watching the birds.

Getting down low for another perspective.

A pond.

Another pond, at the same park.

And another one.

And then we happened upon something else...

A rat!

The rat and the geese playing together.

The ducks didn't seem to mind either.

There were people taking engagement pictures just to the right of us, and the sight of the rat made them scream, but...

Alexis was very interested.

Here she is showing the ducks her Teddy Grahams.

Enjoying some Teddy Grahams by the water.

The rat, again.
A goose.

Mommy thought this sign was funny, since the water was maybe only 6 inches deep. It probably wasn't necessary to post a sign that says "No Swimming or Diving"

The beautiful moutains that surround Vegas.

This is on the playground.
Alexis enjoying the slide.

Showing Daddy how to climb on the playground.

"Hi Mommy!"

Watching the other kids.

The mountains again.

Even when we're not playing, Mommy & Daddy still love the sight of a football flying through the air.

Christmas

Okay, so I know I'm really far behind, when I do my Christmas post in March, but better late than never.

We were really excited for Christmas this year. We thought that Alexis would really enjoying opening the gifts. Afterall, isn't that what 18 month olds do best, tear things apart?

Our tree.

But, it turns out we were wrong. Here is Alexis eating a Pop-Tart, not even remotely interested in what might be under the tree.

Even Elvis walked right by his stocking.

Eventually, Pop-Tart in hand, Alexis pulled the stuff out of her stocking.

And that's where it stopped.

Here is Alexis playing with the box that Daddy's new shoes came in.

And, holding the treats from Elvis' stocking.

So proud of herself!

Looking at Elvis' new bandana.

Finally checking out a toy.

Sitting on Daddy's lap, while he opened her gifts.

Enjoying her new chair and CD player from Grandma & Grandpa.

Still not interested in the wrapped gifts.

One of only two gifts she even helped to open.

She had to stand up for this one.

Looking at her gift from her uncles, before handing it to Daddy to open.

New books!!

Thank you, Uncle Allen & Uncle Adam!

Daddy still opening presents.

Alexis and her new doll, bald and blue eyed, just like her!

Laptop from Uncle Bob & Aunt Diane.

Piggy bank from Grandma & Grandpa.

Concentrating very hard.

It took about two hours, but we FINALLY got through all the gifts, and then it was time for dinner, prime rib and crab legs....YUM!!!
