Renaissance Festival

A few weeks back, there was a Renaissance Festival in Las Vegas. Mommy & Daddy always enjoyed going to the one in New York, so we thought we'd give this one a try.
While it was quite large, and there were a lot of people in costume, very few people were actually in character (not quite the same when you see the village wench talking on her cell phone or the town drunk checking his watch).

Ahhh, yes. I believe Miller Lite was the official sponsor of the original Renaissance.

Some of the characters and theater set.

Alexis checking out the program.

The King's throne (I assume - we never actually saw the King).

Revolutionary war cannons - getting our timeframes confused gentlemen?

Some characters by the water.

More stages.

This guy had a bird show, where his birds flew around and took money that people held in the air - sounds like a scam to me.

I'm really not sure what these two were supposed to be.

Jester.

Juggling.

Medieval Jenga anyone?

Some of the tents.

More tents.

Crazy snake lady.

With all the inconsistencies, Alexis didn't seem to mind. She still had a great time hanging out by the water with Mommy & Daddy.

King Putt

There's a great little miniature golf place in Vegas called, "King Putt".

We like it, because it's all indoors, so no matter how hot or cold it is, it's still fun.

So, a couple of months ago (I really will get caught up on here), Mommy & Daddy decided to take Alexis there.

As you can see, it's all lit by blacklights, but Alexis had no trouble making her way around the course.

And, she enjoyed climbing on the animals.

Nice shot, Daddy!

Blocking Mommy's shot.

Daddy and Alexis with King Putt, himself!

I won't put up the final score, but let's just say Daddy wasn't too pleased when we left there, but he was a good sport (mostly).

Too Long

It's been way too long since I updated, so here are a couple of cute pictures to start with, and hopefully they will inspire me to keep going...

Hiking in Mt. Charleston

While staying in Mt. Charleston, we decided to do some hiking.

This trail was a four mile hike.

There were beautiful views all along the trail.

Mommy & Alexis stopping along the way.

Daddy liked the vegetation.

Half way.

Stopping for a rest.

Daddy's turn to carry Alexis.

Just gorgeous!

Daddy & Alexis along the trail.

Alexis fell asleep on the way back.
No hang gliding? Oh well, maybe next time!

Alexis still sleeping.

The end of the hike!

It's been a long time!

I can't believe it's been 30 days since my last post. I used to be so much better at this, and I'm going to try to get back on track...starting....now!

Labor Day Getaway

Labor Day weekend, we rented a cabin at Mt. Charleston.
The front door of our cabin.

Daddy and Alexis checking things out.

The bathroom.

The bed and jacuzzi tub.

Fireplace.

Daddy enjoying the deck.

The view to the side.

Daddy and Alexis inspecting the cooler.

The view from our deck.

Above the front door.

Daddy looking at...

...Alexis!!

Alexis loved running from the deck to the inside of the cabin and back again.

Another shot of the view.

Yet another.

We all enjoyed the deck so much!

Especially Alexis.

Saying "Hello"

Yes, there were stairs going past the bathroom window.

The view from the front of the cabin.

Another shot.

This was the view at the restaurant (right next door to the cabins).

Also from the restaurant.

When the sun started going down, it got chilly out,

but Alexis didn't mind.

Hey Daddy, what'cha got there?

She REALLY wanted Daddy's beer,

but this was as close as she got to it.

It didn't stop her from trying, though.

And again.

Eventually, she gave up and just played.

So much fun!

Playing inside.

Then, it was time for dinner.

The food wasn't great and was somewhat overpriced, but you couldn't beat the view.

It was really nice in all directions.

Daddy and Alexis enjoying themselves.

After dinner, Alexis found a little boy to play with (he's peaking through the bars, on the other side).

The view as the sun started to set.

The fireplace.

Alexis telling us all about the fireplace.

The row of cabins.

The stairs down to our cabin.

The next morning, Alexis was still ready to play.

Daddy and Alexis decided to take in the view from the deck again.

Playing in the suitcase.

And in the big chair.

"9-1-1. What is your emergency?"
"The bell is ringing!"

Breakfast.

We had such a great time and would DEFINITELY go there again!
