Big trouble in little Sin City

OK, so you probably guessed this isn't a picture of Alexis (it's the hair that gave it away, isn't it?), but you know the old saying "You can't walk before you crawl"? Well, Alexis has decided to give it a try anyway. Three times today, she pulled herself up into this position. While she's been doing a type of land crawling (more like scooting) for awhile now, she hasn't officially crawled yet. I've been preparing myself and the house (as best I can) for her to crawl, but I am NOT ready for her to walk yet!!!

I think we're in big trouble!!!

Christmas Cheer

As you well know, today was Alexis' first Christmas. She didn't quite know what to make of all the excitement, but all in all we had a wonderful day. Here are some pictures. Be sure to watch the video at the end. I know it's hard to see, but if you turn on your sound, I promise it'll make you smile.

When we were decorating, Alexis got to put the first ornament on the tree. Daddy must really like her a lot, because he let her put his Bears ornament up!

Christmas morning, inspecting the presents.

Time with Daddy is Happy Time!

Silly, Daddy!

Daddy's new blow dart toy gun (the biggest hit of Christmas)!

Cuddling.
Alexis just loved the dart gun. Enjoy...

Big Girl

Alexis had her six month check-up yesterday. At which, she managed to throw up on Mommy, Daddy, the doctor (the nurse was quite pleased about that) and the floor. Other than the mini vomit-fest, the doctor said everything was great. She's now 17 lbs 6 oz (still in the 70th percentile) and 27.5 inches (still the 92nd percentile). He said if she stays on this same growth path, she'll be about 5'10" as an adult!

Watch out...

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Monday was Daddy's birthday, so we hit the road. We drove up to Utah to go to Bryce Canyon National Park...

Alexis hanging out at BK, on the way
Alexis testing out the bed at the hotel.
In the morning, we woke up to a surprise (the temperature gauge reads 28 degrees - weather.com said it would be 50)...SNOW...

The news made it a little tougher for Daddy and Alexis to get out of bed.

But, eventually, they did, and Alexis had her first encounter with snow...

What a view!
The plan, hiking in the canyon...

Alexis in her pack, ready to go.

Mommy and Alexis heading out.

Daddy too.

The ultimate Christmas tree.

Natural Bridge

Hiking didn't last long, since we weren't equipped for below freezing weather, so we drove the rest of the way.

Hoodoo? You do!

Pretty high up!

Watch out...

While we didn't see any bears, we did come very close to these deer...

Alexis was quite pleased when we returned to the hotel...

Warming up by the fire.

We ate before we left.

And then hit the road again...
