Ahh-Choo!
Tonight, just as Alexis was taking her last bite of cereal (which, she has come to love, by the way), she sneezed and shot cereal EVERYWHERE! So, I did what any good mom would do, grabbed the camera. Luckily, her night time routine includes taking a bath before bed. The only difference tonight was that the dog and I both could have used a bath too!

Squeals & Giggles
When I was getting Alexis ready for her bath today, she was particularly giggly. I grabbed the camera, which more or less made her stop, but I did capture a few giggles, squeals, and screams. (Sorry about the camera work; I did my best to keep it on her while getting her to laugh at the same time).

Yummy, yummy, yummy I got love in my tummy...
...but very little cereal. After geting the OK from her doctor this week, Alexis had her first taste of rice cereal. As you can see from the video, it wasn't a very big hit with her...

4 month check-up
Today was Alexis' four month check-up. The doctor loved her so much that he tried to convince us to let him keep her (as you may have guessed, we declined). She is now 14 lbs 14 oz, which is in the 70th percentile and 25.75 inches long, which is in the 90th percentile! She has grown a ton since her last visit, and the doctor was quite pleased. He said that everything looked great!

HOT! HOT!! HOT!!!
Disclaimer: This story is not about Alexis.
Yesterday, while I was at work, I was in the bathroom, and I smelled something burning. I figured somebody had just burned something in the microwave AGAIN, but the smell was pretty strong, and when I emerged, I was told to vacate, because the building was on fire!! I walked around the corner and saw smoke pouring from the vents in the ceiling. We all went outside and watched from the parking lot as 4 fire trucks and an ambulance arrived within 3 minutes of the call going out (Way to go LVFD! - We were all impressed). They went inside and determined that one of the air conditioning units in the ceiling had caught on fire, and they promptly put it out. Nobody was hurt, and there was no damage to the building - which is just about the best possible outcome for a fire.
The kicker was that just the day before someone had been at the office doing "preventative maintenance" on the air conditioning units. About half an hour after the start of the fire, the air conditioning repair man arrived, causing a fair amount of laughter among our group.
About 7 hours later, when I got home, I could still smell smoke in my hair!
Here are some pictures from the view in the parking lot...
