Over the river and through the...desert

This past weekend, Alexis made her first trip to Grampa Jimmy & Grandma Kay's house in Arizona.

Right off the bat, the spoiling began, as Grandma & Grandpa gave her this Easter basket, and she got to open it even though it won't be Easter for a few more weeks!

EASTER SOCKS!!

Hmmm...what do these do?

A pink bunny. Alexis is ever the skeptic.

Let me see that card.

Got it!

Pretty Easter hat.

More posts from our trip to come...

Standing

I know you can't really tell much from this picture, but this is how I found Alexis the other morning. I went in to get her, and she was standing in her crib! She's getting so big so fast!

Mt. Charleston

Today, we decided to head up to Mt. Charleston.
It was 85 degrees in Las Vegas today, so naturally we were a little surprised to find snow.
But we decided to take a short hike anyway.
You tell 'em, Smokey!

Pretty views!

At the trail head.

Adam just can't resist throwing snowballs.

Some interesting vegetation.

Why Daddy, what do you see?

Oh, it's Mommy & Alexis!!

Brotherly love.

Can you imagine living in the side of the mountain???

It would be pretty nice to wake up to views like this!

Heading home.

Love those rocks!

M

A new casino opened in town, called the "M" resort.
Naturally, Daddy wanted to go check it out.

The casino.

Alexis liked this bench the best.

Outside by the pool.

Playtime

Alexis got Mega Blocks, so she and Daddy built this nice tower.
But then, Baby-Kong came by for a visit

and SMASH!

No more tower.

On to tackling Daddy!

Wheeeee!

Daddy by the destruction.

9 month check-up

Alexis had her nine month check-up a few days ago. She's now 19 lbs 11.5 oz (65th percentile) and 29.5 inches (95th percentile). The doctor said she's still on the growth path to be between 5'10" and 5'11" as an adult. She got the final of her hepatitis B shots and had some blood tests done (she didn't even make a sound when they took her blood, just gave the nurse a dirty look). The doctor said everything was perfect, and he gave us the go ahead to feed her regular table food (with a few key exceptions). Here are some pictures of her first encounter with "regular" food. She had apple juice and scrambled egg yolks (egg whites are on the list of foods to avoid - especially since Daddy is allergic to eggs).
You wouldn't know it from this picture, but after the juice, she was on a complete sugar high! Luckily it only lasted a little while.

She wasn't real sure what to think, at first, but she definitely seemed to enjoy it by the end.

Where a kid can be a kid...

That's right, this weekend we took the plunge and went to Chuck E. Cheese's (we knew, as parents, we'd have to do it eventually). For some reason, our camera wasn't exactly working right, so a bunch of the pictures came out blurry, but you can still get the idea...

It was COMPLETELY packed and chaotic! The games were all intertwined with the tables, and there were kids running around EVERYWHERE!!

... Just Alexis' style!

There was an entire toddler section, and while Alexis isn't technically a toddler, it was perfectly enjoyable to her.

She played games,

rode all the rides (except for one car that Daddy wouldn't let her get into, because it had a plastic passenger who was a little boy, and Daddy said she wasn't allowed to ride with boys!),

and just had an all around great time!

Daddy even rode one ride with her!

This game wasn't as fun as you might think, since the gun on the right didn't work, but Alexis still got a kick out of helping Daddy shoot the water.

The big cheese, himself!

Alexis and Chuck, cruising.

So much fun!

Whoa! Do you see that?

Whee!

Alexis and Barney.

Tuckered out and ready to go home! We'll come back again!
